Mission Statement
The Haji Moula Bukhsh (HMB) Trust
is a non-profitable, voluntary Organization, registered under the Trust Act of
Pakistan. The HMB Trust is committed to eradicating illiteracy by imparting
quality education at low cost / no cost, plus improving quality of life of the
people of Pakistan by providing free health facility / at subsidized rates. The
Trust consists of the following:

About Mr. Iftikhar Soomro (Chairman, HMB Trust)
Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed
Soomro belongs to the well-respected Soomro family of Shikarpur, Sindh. His
father, Sardar Haji Moula Buksh Soomro was a Provincial Minister in the Sindh
Cabinet before partition and became a Federal Minister in the Pakistan
Government after partition and held several key portfolios. His uncle, Allah
Bukhsh Soomro was the First Chief Minister of Sindh in undivided India. Mr.
Iftikhar Ahmed Soomro holds a B.A (Honors) degree in Economics from the
University of Karachi and has a wide and rich experience in various fields of
finance and management. He has served as Managing Director / Director with a
number of organizations, such as Sind Fine Textile Mills Ltd, HMB Sons
(Pvt.)Limited, Beebul Rice Mills (Pvt.) Ltd, Zaib Toweling Industries, Umer
& Sons, Pak Saudi Fertilizers Limited, Al Tawfeek Investment Bank Ltd, and
Standard Insurance Company Ltd. In addition he has also held a number of key
positions, such as Chairman APTMA for 2 years, Member, Working Group on Private
Investment, Chairman, Industries Committee, Industrial Advisory Centre, FPCCI,
President, Shikarpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Director, Investment
& Management Development Corporation, Director KESC, Member, Governing Body
Sindh Employees Social Security Institution.
Presently, he is
Honorary Consul General for republic of Tunisia, Director Park-Davis, Pfizer
Laboratories. He is also member of Board of Governors of Karachi Grammar
School, IBA, Sukkur, NASRA Public School and Army Public School, Shikarpur. For
several years he has been elected to serve on the Managing Committees of Boat
Club and Sind Club.
Mr. Iftikhar Soomro
set up HMB Trust in 1990 and since then this has been growing with grace of
God. Initially the Law College was started and then HMB CCU and then HMB
Institute of Science and Technology. Mr. Iftikhar Soomro pooled his own
property to establish the said institutions for the welfare purpose.
